FAQ

1) What is Reiki?
Reiki is appropriateness. It is universal life force energy which has created the universe and she has the power to run the universe.

2) How does Reiki work?
When we make Reiki available Reiki is received by the person and whatever is appropriate for his or her growth will happen.

3) How does it heal?
Healing means becoming ‘Whole’. When Reiki is made available, whatever is incomplete will be completed. This doesn’t mean that desires will be fulfilled. In the whole journey of lives, in the present moment whatever has to be completed will be done. This is healing, it may not be as per our desires or liking but it is making every moment a part of conciousness a ‘Whole’. (Perhaps all this can be discussed with me personally)

4) Can distant attunements be done?
My teachers have not taught me distant attunements, so I don’t know anything about this area. There is nothing like distant attunement in Dr. Usui’s System as per my knowledge.

5) Is distant Reiki effective?
Yes, distant healing is effective because the symbols and mantras do the work of healing but for the mind touch Reiki is very very soothing. We need to except this. Also in distant healing lots of concentration and commitment is required from the healers and receivers side. If this is done miracles can happen.

6) Will the Reiki healer get the disease of the patient to be healed?
Technically this cannot happen but sometimes, in touch Reiki, the healer can get the symptoms whatever the patient is going through because the aura gets mixed with the patients aura. In distant healing one will get some signals. In touch Reiki if getting the symptoms are very strong, the healer should stop healing and focus on himself. When the antenna in the Third Eye Chakra is in total awareness and doing the job, this wont happen.

7) Where can it be practised?
It is practised all over the world.

8) Can Reiki be sent to several people at the same time?
Reiki can be sent to a group of people who are going through a particular phase or through the use of a Reiki box this can be done. There are limitations fro the mind but universal consciousness is existence which is alive, attentive and contributing all the time.

9) Can I give Reiki to my pets?
Yes, please give them Reiki and experience and enjoy how they receive Reiki. This will be a lovely energy exchange and appropriate way of taking care and loving them.

10) Does the person receiving the energy have to stop what they are doing to receive the energy?
No it is not necessary, but if they wish they can lie down. If you are sensitive you will experience anyway and if not you wont experience it.

11) Is Reiki to be done only in day time?
Reiki is universal life force energy received all the time, day and night. It is not a Solar Energy. It is universal which has created the universe.

12) Who can learn Reiki?
Anybody and everybody who wants to can learn Reiki. Nobody should force taking Reiki attunement on any one, as consciously or unconsciously those who have taken Reiki attunements tend to do this.

13) Can Reiki prevent death?
Reiki is appropriateness whether it is birth, life or death. All that will happen in the appropriate manner. We don’t have to measure understand, judge or interpret it. So it ie better to do the healing and be in the present moment.

14) Is concentration needed in Reiki?
Concentration is not required but a powerful intention and commitment is required. If you are healing somebody for fifteen minutes and you are totally focused for fifteen minutes then perhaps very soon you will be enlightened.

15) Will Reiki ever run out?
No Reiki can never run out or be exhausted. This is out of question. Universal conciousness is Nityanutan means never created, never destroyed. But mind keep asking this question as the definition given is also created by a human being, but th experience of consciousness will make a difference.

16) Can Reiki energy be used to hurt or harm someone?
Reiki system is a part of Tantra. Tantra was created by Lord Shiva, so that by practising it the faith will be born. Hurting somebody cannot create faith and this is not available in the Reiki system. When Reiki is made available, this thought of hurting others will be healed. As this thought of harming itself is a hurt, thus he wants to hurt others. This has to be healed urgently. We have only one choice in life that is loving and contributing, we cannot harm or hurt. What ever happens in the present moment is based on the past karmas. So if somebody has done some harm to me that means I just have to be peaceful and choose it as completion. Now there is a debateable question and that is even we are hurting them because of their past karmas. Understand this very carefully that in the present moment we have a choice, so we choose not to hurt others but to heal others.

17) Is Reiki healing, a religion?
Reiki is universal consciousness available for the whole universe. Perhaps everybody is practising in their own way. Once you get in the system there is awareness, training and commitment. Perhaps the purpose of the religion is also the same; it is the training for the mind. Different people have created different religions for the welfare of the society or a group of people. Universal consciousness is also for the welfare of the whole. 18)What the difference between a Reiki Master and Grand Master?
Reiki Master is a person who can attune people in Reiki one, two, three and masters training. There is nothing like a Reiki Grand Master, it has started just for convience. My teacher Paula Horan used to say a Grand Master is a person whose body does not detoriate after death which happens with Dr. Usui and Dr. Hayashi’s body. So she insists we should not call anybody Grand Master. When I train Reiki Master I give them knowledge of Reiki one, two and after one year Reiki three. As we work together, in Reiki India. There are around ten Masters with who take the Masters training. I like to take this training in a group but if required one person can also be trained. The certificate is given only after Reiki three training is given.

19) Can Chakras be seen on physical body?
Chakras do exist. I personally have not seen them but have felt a powerful space. In India tantra and yog explain all about chakras. What I follow is Kundalini Yog by Swami Satyanand Saraswatiji.

20) Why some people leave practice after second degree?
Leaving Reiki practice is always possible; I have explained this in my book. The understanding has come to me after practice for twenty years and being in Reiki world so I can say this is the way I have understood it.

1. Life is a chain of lives. Soul takes birth with new body always. In every birth there is a journey, this journey is a journey of energy from one chakra to another. This is always upwards from root to the crown chakra.
2. Everybody has to go through the same journey and complete but we do not know in how many lives it will be completed.
3. Today the energy of mankind has reached the Solar Plexus, it keeps coming to the Hara and again in Solar Plexus. From Solar Plexus a new dimension opens up when the energy starts moving upwards from Solar Plexus and thoughts of Sadhana. Practice, spiritualism, meditation will come up.
4. Here people feel like doing Reiki and they go and get attuned but because the journey of the energy is incomplete and has not reached the Heart Chakra they take attunement practice or don’t practice for some time and the energy comes back to the Solar Plexus. The same thing can happen on Reiki one, two and third level. You can read my book or meet me personally where I can explain it.
